This unique barn conversion is perfect for a small family or group of friends looking to enjoy a relaxing break in the Suffolk countryside. It is set on a small farm 1 mile from the charming village of Yoxford. Guests may like to follow country footpaths to the village from the farm or alternatively they can drive there. The village offers a good range of restaurants as well as tearooms, a pub and a useful shop. Treasure hunters might like to visit the famous Yoxford Antique Centre in search of a bargain. Those interested in wildlife should head to the RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve, 6 miles away. The Suffolk Heritage Coast is also 6 miles away with its sandy beaches and beautiful walking opportunities. Guests might like to visit the traditional seaside town of Southwold, 11 miles away or the interesting Aldeburgh, 12 miles away, with its famous Scallop sculpture and music festival. The famous Anglo-Saxon burial ground at Sutton Hoo is 18 miles inland.

The barn conversion was originally a cart lodge and has been beautifully converted retaining many of its original features. The facade is redbrick and dark wooden cladding. Inside, weathered original wooden beams and pillars add plenty of character. The open-plan living space is light and spacious with a large kitchen/diner and separate living room. The lounge features wooden flooring, a cosy wood burner and French doors leading to a patio. All of the rooms have plenty of windows letting in natural light and making the most of the countryside views. Upstairs, guests will find two bedrooms, both with vaulted ceilings, Velux windows and en-suite bathrooms. The first room is a comfortable double with an en-suite shower room. The second room is equipped with a zip-and-link king-size bed. This can be configured as a twin room upon request. The en-suite bathroom in this room has a shower over a bath.

Immediately outside the home, there are large lawns and a patio with garden furniture and a BBQ. On sunny days guests can open up the French doors and enjoy inside/outside living in this tranquil rural setting. Guests are also free to walk around the farm grounds and visit the animals and soak up nature in the beautifully landscaped Prairie Garden.. A shared freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer are available in an adjoining building.

Plough cottage is very easy to get to and in a quiet location. The gardens are stunning. It is very well situated for visiting many of Suffolk's places of interest.The cottage is a comfortable place to stay in and is well equipped. Thank you, the homemade cake was delicious.

Really nice comfortable cottage. Lovely gardens. Conveniently placed for various seaside outings. Dog friendly beaches close by at Dunwich and Sizewell. Helpful owners. Thoroughly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Plough Cottage,the location is superb and the accomadation was perfect,everything we needed in the cottage was there. The owners Marion and Philip were very helpful and were always nearby if needed. We had a lovely week.

A great location for our break. Nice and remote, but still close to the areas we wanted to visit. Ideal for the Suffolk coast and also Sutton Hoo & Woodbridge. We had a very restful break and probably should have booked for 2w !!
