Nestled on a working farm in the village of Milton, this property has been carefully converted from a farm building. Go hill walking in the foothills of the North Pennines or explore Hadrian’s Wall just 2.5 miles from the property. This area is described as ‘England’s last wilderness’ and thus offers the perfect opportunity for the outdoor enthusiast to explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The market town of Brampton is just 2 miles with a good range of shops and amenities, whilst the border city of Carlisle is just 10 miles, where you can find out about its history as the first line of defence against attacking Scottish armies. Closer to home, there are many footpaths and bridleways nearby including Gelt Woods and Talkin Tarn Country Park (3 miles) where you can enjoy sailing, rowing, fishing or relax with a picnic. For aerodynamics enthusiasts, Solway Aviation Museum is 4.5 miles away.

On the ground floor, the property features a lounge, a kitchen/diner, one bedroom, and a bathroom. In the living room, recline on the sofa in front of the wood burner while catching up on your favourite show on the TV and DVD player. From here, you also have access to the patio through the French doors. The spacious kitchen, which features a hemmel arched window, is warm and inviting and is the perfect place to enjoy a home-cooked meal at the dining table as light floods in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The bedroom on this level offers cosy twin beds, a chest of drawers and views over the grounds. Down the hallway, you’ll find a well-appointed bathroom with WC. On the first floor, you'll find the remaining two bedrooms. The first features an inviting super king-size bed, an en-suite shower room and a picture window with a Juliet balcony offering views toward the Lake District hills. The final bedroom offers a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room.

To the front of the property, there is an unenclosed gravel patio with outdoor furniture outside an arched window. Savour a sundowner here or head out the back where a paved patio with further furniture awaits, as well as a lush, grassy lawn up a couple of steps (this area is enclosed). Guests also have use of a BBQ and hot tub.

A lovely cottage. We enjoyed being on a working farm and walking round Miltonrigg Woods in the evening. The owners are friendly and helpful.
