This idyllic cottage is tucked into the hillside at the foot of The Cheviot, within Northumberland National Park. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a couples’ retreat off the beaten track, or a quiet break with the family. The cottage is in the College Valley area of the National Park; a real hidden gem of serenity, where just 12 vehicle permits are issued per day, ensuring the area never becomes anywhere near crowded. As you’d expect, a vast network of tracks and trails branch away from the property, including a route to the summit of The Cheviot, the highest point in the National Park. If you do fancy hopping in the car to explore, the attractive market town of Wooler is 10 miles away. Here, you’ll find a great selection of independent shops, selling an excellent range of delicious local produce. The Heritage Coast is just 24 miles away, and boasts many highlights, including Bamburgh Castle, Seahouses, and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
A short, steep road leads to the cottage and a step up takes you through the front door. Once inside, the accommodation is arranged across one level and has a sociable, open-plan layout. Neutral tones are used throughout the property to create a calm and relaxed atmosphere, whilst the cosy open fire makes the cottage feel warm and inviting. The lounge/diner has comfortable seating arranged around a Smart TV, along with a round dining table for enjoying mealtimes together. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to rustle up delicious dinners and is a joy to cook in, thanks to a window looking out across the valley. The cottage has two beautiful bedrooms, both decorated in calming tones with pretty soft furnishings. Choose from a super-king-size or a twin. Completing the holiday home is a spacious bathroom with cosy underfloor heating.
Outside, you’ll find a fully enclosed garden, where children and four-legged companions can burn off steam. The garden enjoys stunning views of the surrounding hills and woodland and is a place to switch off and connect with nature.
