Part of a group of seven stone cottages which once played a key role on this working farm, the property has been carefully restored to offer a small family a secluded base for an active holiday in and around the North Pennines, where wild fells abound. Explore the footpaths and bridleways at Gelt Woods and Talkin Tarn Country Park (3 miles) before a picnic, or take lunch while shopping in the market town of Brampton (2 miles). History lovers will be in their element at Hadrian's Wall, while the nature reserve at Geltsdale (5.5 miles) will be hit with ornithologists.
Inside, the open-plan living area comprises inviting seating arranged around a wood burner and TV, with a dining table and a small kitchen area close by. It’s a relaxing space, perfect for lazy evenings in together. When the day is done, there are two bedrooms - a king-size room and a twin room - along with a family bathroom. Most rooms have original exposed beamed ceilings, adding a cosy ambience.
The outside space, accessed via the kitchen, comprises a private decked area with garden furniture, along with a shared lawn, hot tub and summerhouse which are the perfect places to escape to or swap holiday notes with other guests.
