An exquisite former barn marrying the old with the new, this Welsh retreat could be ideal for an extended family or two families together. Sleeping ten guests, the five-bedroom hideaway near Darowen, 7 miles from Machynlleth, can be divided into two self-contained cottages. Lace up your walking boots or hop on your bikes to explore this enchanting corner of Mid Wales. Prepare hearty Welsh meals in here for your party, then dine together with the patio doors open on fine days before lighting the wood burner and watching a little TV. Also downstairs is a second lounge/kitchen/diner, with similar features, which opens into a sunroom where you can relax with a cup of tea to take in the views. There is also a porch, where you can hang jackets and leave shoes, as well as two WCs, one within a boot room. Head upstairs to find the bedrooms and bathrooms. These include three king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, a twin room and a bunk bedroom. There are also two family bathrooms.

Wander outside to discover the games room, where you can play pool, listen to music and choose books and other games. Light the BBQ out on the patio and soak up the views as you cook supper out in the fresh air or take the children to the play area in the separate enclosed garden next to the barn.

We stayed at Llety Tanllan with a large group of friends and family and had an absolutely wonderful time it was the perfect retreat for everyone. The house is beautifully presented, spacious, and immaculately clean on arrival. There are plenty of comfortable sleeping areas and well-appointed bathrooms, so everyone had privacy and felt at home. TheRead more living spaces are warm and inviting with lots of seating, great for relaxing together after busy days. The kitchen is fully equipped and excellent for preparing big group meals; we enjoyed cooking and dining together around the large table. The outdoor space is a real bonus lovely grounds with great views and safe areas for children to play. The location is peaceful and scenic, yet within easy reach of charming local towns and attractions, which gave us the perfect mix of relaxation and day-trip options. The owners/hosts were helpful and responsive, and check-in was straightforward. Highlights for our group were the roomy communal areas that encouraged socializing, the comfortable beds, and the spotless condition of the cottage. We made lasting memories here and would highly recommend Llety Tanllan to any large group looking for a comfortable, well-equipped, and welcoming holiday home. Wed love to return! Hide

Llety Tanllan is wonderful. It is in a lovely location and is welcoming, spacious and well-equipped. The garden and the games were much enjoyed by the grand-children (and their parents and grandparents!). We had a truly memorable stay.

Beautiful barn conversions with comfort and style set in the most idyllic location,. Our hosts were a wonderful family full of kindness and love towards their animals and we felt part of that family Everything you could need was available. The Games and pool table brilliant for times out or rest days from walking the hills and mountains. The workiRead moreng farm gave an insight into the lives and livestock of farmers. We were blessed with healthy sheep in the surrounding fields and lambing season was just a beautiful experience. You are away from main roads and general conveniences so going for supplies was a good trip out combined with walks and places to visit. Sturdy walking shoes are a must . The bbq was perfect for our sunny evenings meals. The views were unmatched with the rugged mountains in the distance. The windows are wide so you could see from inside too and the little reading area was a huge bonus. The top garden was great to observe the night sky and a safe playing grass area. Beds were so comfortable we slept so well . The woodburners were brilliant for any chilly evenings too as we needed them a few times. But the barns themselves are very warm and plenty of hot water . We will return. Hide

Beautiful location with stunning views. Wonderful, luxurious conversion with plenty of space in both Ysgubor and Beudy for us to get together and spread the 3 generations (18-82) through. Beautiful place to spend some chill out time and explore local walks and further afield. This was our second stay and we hop to come again. Thank you Rhodri and ERead morelinor! Hide
