Wonderful private cottage on the hillside looking across to Cader Idris, view you dont want to leave behind! The log burner was amazing in December and spent Christmas Day cosied up in front of it. Amazing walks exploring the gold mines, slate mines and waterfalls close by with a hike up Cader Idris on Christmas Eve. We didnt see anybody on most ofRead more the walks - the benefit of a winter holiday. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable, would highly recommend to people who appreciate the mountains and a good view, wanting to be away in their own little piece of solitude. Thank you to Sarah and her husband for providing us the ultimate Christmas hideaway Hide

Just had an amazing week at this beautiful cottage on a working sheep and beef farm in a stunning and peaceful location. Following a very warm welcome from Sarah and Bryn we settled into the cosy cottage which is well equipped and comfortable. The views are incredible, and we enjoyed our morning coffee on the terrace taking it all in, very therapeuRead moretic! Alongside the sheep in the surrounding fields we saw a variety of birds, including Honey Buzzards and the occasional low flying aircraft navigating the valley floor! We were spoiled for choice in things to do but can thoroughly recommend the following; Sunday lunch at the George III Pub at Penmaenpool, lovely location on the estuary and really good food, we followed this by a drive to Morfa Mawddach Station where we parked and walked across the bridge into Barmouth to explore the sandy beaches and the 2p slots!, a visit to Anglesey and boat trip to Puffin Island from Beaumaris Pier, no Puffins this time of year but we saw lots of sea-birds and seals sunbathing! this was followed by a visit to National Trust Property Plas Nwydd which has super views of the Menai Staits, Snowdonia mountain range and lovely gardens, can also recommend a stop in Beddgelert for ice cream on the way back to the cottage and fish and chips from The Mermaid in Barmouth which was excellent and well worth the wait as its very popular but all cooked fresh for you, we enjoyed walking from the cottage lots of footpath choice for all abilities and the higher you got the views just get better! We also went up Snowdon on the Mountain Railway from Llanberis, we were so lucky with having clear skies all the way up and the views were stunning, a picnic by the lake in Llanberis topped off an amazing day. We also enjoyed Barmouth beach which is sandy and safe for the kids to play in the shallows and go on their body-boards, crabbing from the Harbour was also good fun! Overall we had a great time, the location and cottage are superb and can thoroughly recommend it for families or a romantic break from it all! Hide

We loved this cottage. It was so comfortable for us and our toddler. The views were fantastic and it was only a short beautiful drive to Barmouth and the coast. The cottage was spotless and nicely furnished, couldnt fault it. Plenty of great walks from the door. We are already thinking of a return trip.
