An idyllic cottage retreat in the heart of beautiful Welsh countryside, it’s the perfect place for a family or fishing holiday, and there’s the chance to meet the farm animals too. There are plenty of walks from the doorstep, including Glyndwr's Way and the Ann Griffiths Walk, alongside many enchanting castle ruins throughout the area to explore such as Powis Castle, Nantcribba Castle and Montgomery Castle, all within 15 miles. Take in the landscape from the comfort of the Llanfair Light Railway, 4 miles away, enjoy a stroll alongside the Montgomeryshire Canal or venture to Lake Vyrnwy for water sports, cycling and fishing, both within 17 miles.
A wonderful oak-beamed lounge provides cosy seating, TV, French doors and country-style furnishings – and the centrepiece of this room is the brick fireplace with a wood burner for toasty evenings. An open-plan kitchen/diner with exposed brick, beamed ceiling and farmhouse furnishings is a lovely place to cook and dine, with a six-seater table to accommodate your group. The two charming bedrooms, one twin and one king can be found upstairs on the first floor, one of which is a zip-and-link set that can be made into two single beds on request. Finally, there’s a beautiful, characterful bathroom with a skylight letting in lots of natural light.
An enclosed garden shared with the neighbouring cottage, has outdoor seating and provides a lovely space to relax with rural views all around, and a BBQ can be provided on request. The shared games room also sits next door, home to a full-size pool table, dartboard and seating. This beautiful farm is also lucky enough to have not one, but two rivers (Vyrnwy and Banwy) that pass through, offering 700 metres of river fishing on site. Make the most of the farm experience during your stay. If you’re bringing kids along, they’ll love watching the daily milking from the purpose-built viewing balcony and meeting the Kunekune pet pigs.
