This large semi-detached barn conversion is perfect for a family get-together in the Welsh countryside. It could also suit a group of friends looking for an active holiday together. The house is set amidst the rolling hills of Mid Wales, and there are many local walks to enjoy directly from your front door. This beautiful rural location is just 1 mile from the little village of Cemaes with its useful local shop, cafe and friendly pub. To visit a larger town, guests can head to historic Machynlleth just 7 miles away. The town offers a wide range of shops and restaurants and there’s the interesting Alternative Energy Centre to discover too. Walkers and cyclists will be spoilt for choice in the area with many trails to explore and the Snowdonia National Park just 15 miles away. The mountain biking centre in Coed y Brenin near Dolgellau is particularly popular and is only 15 miles away. For a day at the beach, the sandy bays of Aberdyfi and Ynys Las are around 19 miles away. Both offer opportunities for sea swimming, a mix of water sports, or simply a stroll along the sands with an ice cream in hand.

The spacious stone barn conversion is generously proportioned throughout with many of its original 18th-century features still intact. The windows look out onto the pretty grounds with undulating countryside beyond. The slate-floored kitchen/diner is the heart of the house and is a lovely sociable space. The kitchen has all you need to cook up a feast and the whole group can gather around a large wooden dining table at mealtimes. The comfortable lounge is furnished with plenty of sofas and has expansive windows and French doors opening to a wooden deck. A games room provides an additional social space where guests can play pool, read or settle down and watch a film. The downstairs utility room houses a washer/dryer and there’s ample storage for bikes and muddy boots, as well as a useful downstairs WC. Upstairs, guests will find three peaceful bedrooms looking out to the gardens. The master bedroom is a double with an en-suite shower room and a feature stone wall. There is another large double bedroom, and the third room is a family room with a super-king-size and a single bed. This room can also be configured as a triple with three single beds upon request. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath and a heated towel rail.

Immediately outside the living room is a large raised wooden deck set up with a table and chairs. On sunny days, this is the perfect spot for enjoying your meals in the open air. From morning coffee to evening drinks, guests can make the most of the tranquil setting and fresh air. Opposite, there is a large lawn with a play area for children, and beyond that are views of forested hillsides. If you are a large group you might like to reserve this adjacent property also, which houses five additional guests.
