Spend a blissful morning soaking up the raw beauty of Hartland Point (3 miles) while you photograph the dramatic cliffs, historic lighthouse and sweeping views of where the Bristol Channel meets the Atlantic. Alternatively, stroll through the cobbled streets of Clovelly Village (5.5 miles), appreciating its quaint, whitewashed cottages and working harbour as you go. Or head to Welcombe Mouth (8 miles) to explore this superbly secluded pebble beach backed by high cliffs. A stunning waterfall flows directly onto the shore after the rain. Further afield, try your hand at surfing at Widemouth Bay (17.5 miles).

Head to the country-style lounge and make yourself at home by the stylish electric fire. When it’s time to eat, make your way to the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner to whip up some of your favourite dishes. Enjoy a sociable dinner in light-filled dining area by the large windows. Half a historic 17th century fortified farmhouse on a working farm. Very well equipped and comfortably furnished. Ideally placed for the wild Hartland peninsular: a short walk to the coast path with cliffs and views to Lundy Island. The garden/patio with hot-tub is ideally sheltered when the wind is blowing. We explored as far as Instow and AppledoRead morere to the east, and Morwenstow and Bude to the south with gardens, churches and pubs. A detailed local road map such as found on www.streetmap.co.uk with the post code helps you get your bearings. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week with friends. Hide

We had the best time! The cottage has everything you would ever need, hot tub is amazing and the location is perfect. This is a working farm and pretty remote which we absolutely loved - the farm so great, it was lambing season when we visited so my 10 year old was on the element. We were lucky enough to see the lambs being born and it was absoluteRead morely amazing! Jo who works on the farm is so patient, helpful and just lovely - she was so kind with my daughter letting her help and support. This has been the best stay - my only negative was that we had to leave as we could have stayed there forever! Thank you so so much - we cant wait to return x Hide
