The Lodge sits in a delightfully private cottage garden surrounded by fields on a traditional mixed farm. Its a fantastic choice for those looking for a countryside get away which is also close to the coast. Easy walks from the front door along grass tracks across connecting farms- Hares galore. If you are looking for something a little more energetic, the Lodge also connects to the National Cycles Network and Sandling walks.

3 minute drive away sits the village of Bramfield (0.7 miles) the thriving village has a local butchers/village shop- KW Clarke.  As well as a busy pub, The Queens Head which is open 7 days a week serving excellent food. Between Aldeburgh (15 miles) and Snape (12 miles) you will be spoilt for choice for year-round world-class concerts, opera and ballet. Bramfield is an attractive village surrounded by open countryside, rich pasture land on one side and Sandlings common on the other, running towards the coast. Gorse and heather create a perfect habitat for a number of rare ground nesting birds, colourful butterflies and excellent grazing for deer. Just a few miles from Halesworth, a small market town with a traditional Wednesday market as well as Dunwich, Minsmere, Walberswick and Southwold, this is an area of wide skies and breath-taking landscapes. Walkers, cyclists and bird watchers will be in their element. Theatre lovers should check out the open air theatre at Thorington (3.5 miles) where you will be able to find a range of entertainment.

Inside, the sitting room is perfect for relaxing in, with two large sofas and an easy chair, a lovely spot to enjoy the garden. There are games and books in the cupboard and French doors leading to the garden. The open-plan kitchen and dining room provides ample space for preparing food and entertaining. Also on the ground floor is the Super King/ Twin bedroom accompanied by an en-suite wet room as well as King Size Bedroom with a separate walk in shower and WC. All bedrooms have garden views.

The terrace outside the French doors is ideal for dining alfresco either in the sun or in the shade of the sun umbrella. The terrace leads onto the lawn area which is surrounded by trees and shrubs and would be perfect for relaxing or for children to play on. The cottage is absolutely ideal for people who enjoy the countryside, and need space to change their muddy boots! Very comfortable beds, very well equipped kitchen and utility, and a perfect location to enjoy the beautiful Suffolk countryside.

What a lovely place to find - the accommodation was so good we were all very comfortable during our weeks stay. Our host was so charming and helpful - providing us with milk and a bottle of red wine to support what we needed after our journey - mug of tea or glass of wine!!! Nicely situated in the Suffolk countryside, we were able to access manyRead more places without too much trouble - Framlingham Castle, Southwold, Oulton Broads, Thorpe Ness, Aldeburgh, Beccles - alas the weather wasn't always the best but we weren't deterred from "exploring" the lovely county of Suffolk. it was a bonus to return to a lovely warm and comfy place to stay.... Our second visit here was as good as our first. We the Lodge itself is fabulous, and it's great to have your own private garden. Across the railway track there are miles of footpaths around the fields, so you don't even have to leave the Farm if you don't want to. The Lodge was very spacious, extremely clean and very well equipped. The bed was comfy and the walk-in shower was great. The garden was very pretty with cottage garden flowers and adequately sized for our Dog and a patio area for us to sit too. The train line is close and it goes by quite regularly and into the late hours. It wasn't a problem foRead morer us, the noise was only for a few seconds and we got used to it. Shauna was very welcoming and lives next door. It is on a working farm, so there were Cows, Horses, Chickens, Guinea Fowl and a very cute Donkey with the biggest ears! Our Dog is elderly, so we did just short walks down the drive and then went out in the car to Dunwich Heath/Forest for a walk in the shade as the weather was quite hot. If you're a longer walker and want to walk from the Lodge, then we would suggest you do a bit of homework first to find where to go. We also went into Bramfield, a few minutes in the car, parked in the Village Hall Car Park and walked through the fields behind. There is a ready made mowed path through and it's a lovely walk. The Queens Head Pub does great food too - especially the Sunday Roast and they are very Dog friendly. We would also recommend Walberswick, Thorpeness and of course, Southwold. Hide

What really impressed was the spaciousness of the accommodation. Additionally everything seemed to have been thought of, and we were very happy and comfortable. It was unique I think, to have a level crossing on the farm, but the trains were no problem to us at all.

This cosy but specious cottage is very well and thoughtfully equipped - home from home really. The garden is lovely and overlooks a beautiful pond, which is discreetly fenced off, so no danger of the dogs falling in. The cottage is well away from the road and tucked away in the middle of a working farm, which was quite a new experience for us. WRead moree enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked for next year. Hide
