Set atop the hills in an idyllic location, a short 1.5 miles from the bustling market town of Ulverston, this property offers the best of both worlds, be it walking and cycling through country lanes or dining out in delightful restaurants. Additionally, the town plays host to art exhibitions held at the historic Coronation Hall throughout the year. Ulverston hosts a diverse array of festivals, from culinary and beer festivals to the renowned Dickensian Festival, among others. Situated a little over 9 miles away is Newby Bridge, where the southernmost point of Lake Windermere reaches towards the village of Lakeside, home to Windermere Lake Cruises (10 miles). For a touch of nostalgia, visitors have the opportunity to relive the past by indulging in a steam train journey from Newby Bridge to Haverthwaite, 7 miles distant from the charming cottage. Head 14 miles to visit the popular Cartmel Racecourse.

Stepping into the cottage, you are welcome to kick off your muddy boots and hang your coats in the porch before entering the spacious open-plan living/dining/kitchen area. Enjoy the panoramic views from the floor-to-ceiling patio doors whilst cosying up in front of the wood burner, or why not spend an evening catching up on your favourite series on the Smart TV? Breakfast can be enjoyed from the island whilst the chef of the house makes use of the amenities, amply supplied with everything you need for your self-catering stay. Heading through the high-ceilinged hallway you can find the well-appointed twin bedroom, with a TV and beautiful views – it’s a peaceful place to slumber after a day on the fells. Opposite, you can find the family bathroom, with a stunning roll-top bath and walk-in rainfall shower. Further ahead, the master bedroom can be found, a spacious king-size room with plenty of storage, a TV and a bijou en-suite.

Soak in the enchanting far-reaching fell and sea views from the garden. Enjoy a glass of wine from the elevated patio whilst the sun goes down. There is also a small stream at the end of the garden.

This is a spacious, well equipped property with amazing views. Furniture and beds are comfortable, and it was warm and cosy. The owners are lovely and helpful (the cake was delicious). A car is essential, and it is a great base for exploring the southern Lake District. We loved our stay!

Ringwiddy Cottage is peaceful, warm and spacious and is in beautiful countryside on the Cumbria Way. The underfloor heating and insulation are perfect, the accommodation is very snuggly. The property is perfectly sound proofed. Bathrooms are luxurious, lovely showers with plenty of water and comfy towels. The open plan kitchen/lounge area is more sRead morepacious than the photos suggest. Our stay was lovely, we were made to feel at ease and very welcome. The cottage was amazing, and has been finished to a high standard. Our little lad managed to lose a piece of his jigsaw at the place, but a few days later it arrived at our house in the post! The location of this property is idyllic. Perched up a hillside with amazing views of the countryside and , in the distance, Morecambe Bay. A little awkward to get to but well worth the effort. Rose and Ian are perfect hosts, and while they did not interfere at all in our stay, they were there if needed to solve any problems. The cottage is new andRead more therefore spotlessly clean.
