This attractive and conveniently positioned barn sits on the owners working farm between Bude and Holsworthy. Just 6 miles from the Atlantic coast Widemouth Bay and the seaside town of Bude with its vast sandy beaches, water sports including surfing, and a plethora of shops and independent cafes, pubs and restaurants that make this a great day out. Walking enthusiasts will love the rugged coastline walks and a visit to Hartland Quay (22 miles) offers stunning walks and scenery. If you wish to go a little further afield the North Devon beach of Westward Ho! and the pretty Cornish villages of Tintagel, Port Isaac, and Rock are all within 35 miles. The wild beauty of Bodmin and Dartmoor National Park are a must for walkers and nature lovers alike. Other attractions include RHS Rosemoor Gardens, plus the cobbled village of Clovelly is well worth a visit and within a 19-mile radius.

Stepping into this wonderfully presented barn conversion designed with a lovely blend of original exposed beams and contemporary style features throughout. Enter into the large entrance hall with a feature spiral staircase with a stair lift . To your right  and down one step is the well-equipped kitchen/diner with everything you need to cater for your stay, to your left is the lounge with comfy seating Smart TV, wood burner and double patio doors leading out to the patio and garden. Also on the ground floor is a shower room. Heading up the carpeted spiral staircase which also has the benefit of a stair lift you will find a landing area with a couple of comfy chairs, leading to two bedrooms, both having king-size beds, but one having an en-suite bathroom.
Outside the rear garden gets the sun for most of the day, the large patio area with garden furniture and charcoal BBQ overlooks the large lawn and is a great place to relax after a day exploring. There is the use of a washing machine and tumble drier (shared with owner) accessed from outside.

Very comfortable and well equipped. Lovely garden and patio to relax in. Waitrose and Lidl within easy reach. Excellent locations for the many attractions and places of interest. Highly recommended.

The repurposed barn is very comfortable and well equipped. The patio area is very nice but the poor weather limited our use of it. Overall, we enjoyed a very relaxing week at Merchant's Granary.

Fantastic location, the cottage was so good! Charles & Gillian were great hosts who let us check in early and called us before we drove down to and check we knew essentials about travelling down to the cottage, etc. The place is lovely, the garden is perfect for relaxing the house itself is spacious and has everything you need for lovely time. This is a top barn conversion, comfortable, very clean, lovely garden, very friendly owners and a great location close to Bude.

An amazing cottage, very comfortable and furnished to a very high standard. There is ample space for a party of 4 and the fact that there are two bathrooms was also welcome. Water was always very hot. The garden is lovely and it was great to meet the donkeys! The location is excellent for exploring the N Devon coast, only 6 miles to Bude. The WaitrRead moreose in Holsworthy is also very handy 4 miles. Holsworthy Brewery is a trek but worth it! I have no hesitation in recommending the cottage. 5 stars Hide

The Merchants Granery is a great base for a devon/cornwall holiday. The barn was spacious, clean and cosy with everything supplied for a comfy stay. Being a working farm meant we saw sheep (and donkeys!) being herded past our garden gate regularly. The sheep dogs came to the garden gate daily to be fussed over too.
