Great for couples and small families wanting a rural getaway, this wooden lodge is set within the grounds of a working farm. Visit a popular local ice cream parlour 3 miles away, or pick up supplies at a well-known farm shop just 1.5 miles away. The National Trust’s Clumber Park (19 miles) is great for walking and cycling, and if you’re a fan of Robin Hood, head to Sherwood Forest (15.5 miles) to find the mighty Major Oak. Rufford Abbey with its lake and playpark is also just 10 miles away. Southwell is 6 miles away with its famous minster along with independent shops and cafes. Newark-on-Trent is 7 miles away, and you can find lots to do from picnics on the castle grounds to taking a boat trip on the river or visiting the Civil War museum.

With all the accommodation on one level, step inside the wooden lodge into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which offers everything you need to relax with good company during your stay. Put your feet up on the comfy sofas and light the wood burner during the chillier months. The kitchen offers everything you need to rustle up a meal for the family during your stay, and there is a nearby dining table to come together around. There are two pleasant bedrooms decorated with matching furniture and pretty fabrics, a king-size and a twin, so you are bound to get a good night's rest and recharge your batteries. Get ready for the day's activities ahead in the shower room.

There is a patio next to the lodge offering a hot tub and outdoor seating, surrounded by grassy fields – the perfect place to chill and enjoy the countryside air.
