Enjoying an elevated position with far-reaching views across to Pen y Fan, this detached barn is great for families wanting to get back to nature and enjoy the outdoors. It is situated just 1 mile from the village of Llangorse, which sits deep within the national park, and is well-served with a local shop and village inn. The area is perfect for outdoor pursuits; you can hire a rowing boat, kayak, Canadian canoe, pedalo, stand-up paddleboard or fishing boat on Llangorse Lake, the largest natural lake in South Wales. There is a wealth of walking, whether you choose to follow the rivers and canals or enjoy the hilltop views. There are activity centres that offer kayaking, climbing, mountain biking and horse riding throughout the area. For the more easy-going guests, there are some lovely market towns such as Hay-on-Wye, known as the town of books, Crickhowell and Brecon, all within 11 miles.

The barn is situated within a small cluster of converted farm barns, surrounded by working farmland. Access is to the side of the barn into a spacious hallway, with a cloakroom and WC, where you can take a seat on the wooden pew to remove muddy boots before hanging up your coats. The hallway provides access to the cosy living space which is perfect for a relaxing evening in front of the wood burner and Smart TV. This room enjoys a dual aspect, enabling plenty of natural light and stunning views. For dining, there is a generously sized table and chairs to seat six if required. The kitchen/breakfast room is accessible from the hallway. A well-equipped kitchen offers everything you would need during your stay, and features a farmhouse table and chairs for four. For family fun, a games room is situated on the first floor which can be accessed via the master bedroom or from the side of the car port – it’s a great space for the competitive amongst you with a full-size pool table, table football, a PlayStation which also offers access to TV applications, and sofas perfect for gaming. Guests have the choice of two bedrooms: a master double room with an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC, and a twin zip-and-link room that can be made into a super-king-size on request when booking, with an en-suite shower room with WC.

Outside, guests can relax on the enclosed raised terrace to the front of the barn, where there is a small table and chairs and a charcoal BBQ. The terrace enjoys wide-ranging views of Llangorse Lake and the Brecon Beacons. There is private parking for two cars within an open-fronted barn, along with a secure storage area for bikes.

Absolutely brilliant rental. One of the best appointed places we have stayed. It's in the middle of nowhere, which means no walking to the shops but makes for the relaxing stay we were looking for. The views are fantastic.

Fantastic beautiful cottage, so rural and peaceful, great facilities, very spacious and clean and cosy. Highly recommend especially in the winter months, shame it wasnt snowing. Will definitely stay at The Granary again if they'll have me.

Second stay for us this year. Took grandsons this time (ages 12 and 16), they thoroughly enjoyed the games room. Would highly recommended The Granary and the area.

Absolutely fantastic location for a relaxing break, views are amazing, Barn had everything we needed, the log burner was lovely and warm. We enjoyed lovely walks around lake near by, pet friendly area, we return again.

Great cottage, very comfortable and well equipped, with lovely views across Llangors Lake to Pen y Fan. Well located for lots of activities around the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. We also thoroughly enjoyed the games room!

Lovely peaceful setting. Lovely rustic cottage. Limited area directly by accommodation for dog walking other than lanes Really good pool table and table football in games room. Comfortable cottage with stunning views. Pubs and lake in easy walking distance even for us oldies (72), plenty of walking routes in the area and entertainment in the cottage. We had a great time, including Rufus the dog.
