This contemporary shepherds’ hut enjoys a stunning location at the gateway to the picturesque South Downs National Park and is home to extensive heathlands, forests, farmland and historical sites, as well as many dog-friendly pubs too. Walkers and cyclists are well catered for with country trails from the doorstep. The thriving market town of Alton is just 2.6 miles away and has a delightful mix of historic buildings, modern shops, cafes and restaurants too. Nearby in Selborne (4.5 miles) you can walk up the famous zig-zag pathway, enjoy the views and explore the hangers, or visit Gilbert White’s House and The Oates Collection.

 Head up the small flight of steps and over the decking into this wonderful shepherds’ hut where you will immediately find yourself surrounded by contemporary country style in the cosy living and sleeping area. The well-presented kitchen space is well equipped with a gas hob, microwave, fridge and wash basin, whilst there is also a dining table for two to sit together and perhaps enjoy a spot of breakfast. A key feature of this home from home is the warming wood burner where logs and kindling are supplied favourably. When the stars are out at the end of the day, retire to the double bed which forms part of this compact yet perfectly appointed space. Completing the offering inside the property, an en-suite shower and WC provides for a comfortable stay in this beautifully rustic environment.

Located outside and to the front of the property, a lovely secluded decking area has been provided for your relaxation and enjoyment and this boasts a private wood-fired hot tub, outdoor seating and fabulous views across the vineyard where guests can explore Hartley Wine Estate’s 80 acres of vines, woodland, farmland and lakes. You can even meet the friendly animals – including a family of peacocks, rare breed chickens and a flock of sheep too. There is ample parking on site.

We loved our long weekend away! The lodge is equipped with everything you could need and decorated beautifully. Very comfy bed. Our dog loved watching the peacocks and exploring the walks from the doorstep. The hosts were super accommodating and popped down to bring any bits and bobs wed forgotten. This is such a beautiful little location to stay. The hut is well equipped for anything you may need and the hot tub is just incredible! The view is amazing. We spent hours in the hot tub just staring at our surroundings! We took our 2 cocker spaniel puppies and they had the time of their lives aswell! Lovely situation, the hot tub was a bonus. Comfy bed. Owners were very responsive. We had a few difficulties most of which were rectified, very quickly. Would definitely book again :)

Had such a lovely stay at the lodge. The owners were hands down amazing and I could not fault them. However, the hot tub was not filled up. The owner noticed this and to say sorry he made the hot tub fire for us which was super sweet :). THE BED WAS AMAZING I did not want to move from it. It was a bit cold in the mornings. A sweet little shepherds hut set in a gorgeous location. The owners had thoughtfully provided lots of little extras, for example little shampoo, conditioner and soap. Even milk left in the fridge and coffee, tea and sugar for a welcome cuppa. Wow what an amazing place! We will definitely be back. The only downside was we wish we had stayed longer as we only got one full day there. Very private with stunning views. Shower was better than our own at home and bed was super comfy. Our dog Malcolm loved his stay there too! A beautiful setting, amazing area for dog walks. The cabin had everything we needed for a weekend break. The log fired hot tub was lovely too. We would definitely recommend this property.

Fantastic stay and beautiful location. Myself and my partner stayed for 3 nights with two dogs (medium and small) and it was comfortable. Facilities were suitable for short stay but kitchenette area was quite small and only really suitable for simple meals. Would question how private the hot tub is as the shepherds hut is right on the edge of the pRead moreath where guests etc walk by which doesnt make it feel so private. This is possibly the most relaxing place I have ever been to. The shepperds hut is compact ,but every thing you need. While soaking in the hot tub, you look out directly onto the vine fields , hills and country side beyond. It is very private and secluded. Excellent shower and plenty of large towels provided. Our stay in the Shepherds Hut was fantastic. Location and views were stunning with friendly owners, the drive into the local towns was quick and easy. The cottage was cozy and comfortable, cresting a relaxing environment for a great week away.

Myself, my partner and our two elderly dogs had a wonderful relaxing break in the Hot Tub Retreat. We went in october when work within the vineyard is presumably more quite than the summer season but, that said, it is a working farm/vineyard so you can't expect complete isolation. Had a lovely week in a very cosy Shepard's hut on a beautiful peace of land. Very peaceful. Emily and Andrew the owners were lovely as we're there 2 little sausage dogs. The accomodation was small but very cosy and had everything we needed.

It is a absolutely lovely simple cottage, containing all the basics you need, plus a hot tub. The environment is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, quiet and calming. We had a fantastic midweek stay here with our little dog. The hut was clean, cosy & fitted out to a high standard. We loved its seclusion. Emily gave us 2 peacocks eggs from the resident peacocks which were delicious. The hot tub was lovely & if you heated it whilst you were out for the day it would be a perfect temperature for when you got back.
