Located within 100 acres of British countryside on a working farm, this converted Game Keeper's Cottage provides a peaceful rural retreat. With woodland views and direct access to Greenlee Lough Lake, it's suitable for wildlife watching and walking. The holiday home is less than 2 miles from Hadrian's Wall, with Steel Rigg and Crag Lough nearby. The market town of Hexham is close by, while Newcastle and Carlisle are just over 30 miles away. The self-catering cottage retreat is situated within Northumberland's International Dark Sky Park, offering good stargazing conditions where vacation visitors can see the Milky Way and sometimes the aurora borealis on clear nights.
Inside, you'll find an open-plan living space with oak flooring, high ceilings, and exposed beams. The lounge area has two sofas, a wood burner, and a Smart TV with DVD player. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, refrigerator with icebox, coffee machine, microwave, and dishwasher, plus a dining table. A utility/boot room contains a countertop freezer and washer/dryer. The family holiday house has two bedrooms—a ground-floor four-poster super-king with a Jack-and-Jill en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath, and an eaves bedroom with a super-king zip-and-link bed (can be twins on request) and an en-suite with whirlpool bath and separate shower.
Outside, there's a garden area with table and chairs for outdoor dining. A fire pit is available for cooler evenings, while a raised picnic bench offers views of the lake through trees—a good spot for stargazing. Guests can access the owners' gardens and use the giant chess set. Peacocks and hens move freely around the property. Four electric bikes are available to rent onsite, and there's secure bike storage. The rural British retreat includes off-road parking for two cars and an electric vehicle charging point.
