A magical Welsh retreat, close to the English border, with spectacular views across the valleys and towards the mountains, and within easy reach of Hay-on-Wye.
Immerse yourselves in the natural beauty of the Wye Valley and gaze out towards Herefordshire, the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park. This inviting, three-bedroom, single-storey log cabin offers five guests an exceptional experience. Pull on your walking boots and head off along the Offa’s Dyke Path, which runs close by, or take a trail through the National Trust’s Begwyns common land with many walks and viewpoints. Hire mountain bikes or canoes in the area too. Spend afternoons pottering about in Hay-on-Wye, 4 miles from the lodge. Browse in the many bookshops here, dine out, stop for a cup of tea and visit the famous Hay Literary Festival, which is held in the town every May and attracts a host of well-known authors.
Enter this light, airy and spacious wooden, rural retreat to find it offers all the comfort you require for your stay in Wales. Make yourselves at home in its open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can throw open the French doors on warm days and bask by a crackling wood burner on chilly evenings. Relax on the comfortable sofas and watch TV, play games or cook together in your stylish kitchen area. The kitchen is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher for mealtimes, along with a washing machine for if you’ve been caught in the rain! Sit down to dine at the table inside or dine out on the veranda, the choice is yours. All three of your bedrooms are on the same ground floor level. The double bedroom has an en-suite shower room and WC, while the twin and single bedrooms share the family shower room and WC. All of them have been lovingly decorated with comfortable beds and soft furnishings.
Carry breakfast, lunch and dinner out on to the balcony to dine and take in the impressive panoramic views, which are simply stunning. Light the BBQ to cook out in the fresh air and let the children play in the enclosed garden. There is ample parking at the log cabin.
