The first floor property, accessed by steep metal steps, is clean, warm and cosy. The working farm is nestled in a dip and so protected from the elements with views from Buttercup Granary across the working yard on one side and open fields with inquisitive Texel sheep on the other. A lovely cosy place to stay, enough room for the three of us. Two whole weeks to enjoy the area, we adlibbed our holiday finding things to do from guides and google; caves, waterfalls, local towns, Cardiff and, of course, the required climb of Pen-y-Fan all accomplished. Always a pleasure to return to Buttercup Granary after an exhausting day away.Read more Best feature? -- this is easy to answer; Pen-y-Crug just a simple 15-20 minute walk uphill and delivering the finest view of Bannau Brycheiniog Park. We had a friendly welcome from Elizabeth, who showed us where everything was and caught up with us from time to time during our stay. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Great location with views of Pen-y-fan, and we loved being on the farm, with the sheep and birds around us. My son enjoyed the swing! The beds were extRead moreremely comfortable and we were all well-rested for our days of walking. The weather was wet but we had no problem getting things dry overnight. Hide

Great location for peace and quiet, its a working farm so allow for the relevant associated noises. For us it was not a problem, all part of farming life that goes on to support the country with food and produce. Nearby Roman Fort which is great for walks and a history hit. Lovely cottage and well equipped little home for the week. Views of the farm were gorgeous, throughly enjoyed hearing the sheep in the mornings. Great location to visit the beaches in the Gower area, Brecon town was only down the road and pen-y-fan was a 20 minute drive. Other than the sofas being uncomfortable of an evening and no large mirrors toRead more get ready with, I cant fault the effort the owner has made to feel like home whilst youre on holiday.
