This attractive property is located in peaceful countryside in the south of the Isle of Wight. A pleasant thirty-minute walk brings guests to the village of Arreton where guests will find two pubs, a farm shop and a craft barn showcasing the work of local artisans. Four miles to the south, meanwhile, the village of Godshill is one of the prettiest spots on the island, where the quiet street is lined with quaint cottages, independent shops, tea rooms, and a model village. Of course, the Isle of Wight is known for its many lovely beaches, and the compact size of the island means that all of the island’s best seaside towns and villages, including those at Ventor, Shanklin, Ryde, and Colwell Bay, can all be reached within a forty-minute drive, with some much closer. If you prefer to head off on foot or on two wheels you will find lovely routes available straight from the front door.

This attractive barn conversion is well-known in the local area for its sympathetic conversion which has retained many of the original features, and this is evident as soon as guests step inside. The first room that they will come to is the spacious lounge/diner with its leather sofas, TV/DVD, and farmhouse-style dining table. A doorway leads through to the kitchen which is well-equipped with everything that guests will need, including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. One of the property’s bedrooms, a spacious twin room, is also located on the ground floor, as is a bathroom with a bath, separate shower, and WC. The remaining two bedrooms can be found upstairs, the first of which is a pretty double room with an attractively beamed ceiling and sloping cottage-style ceiling. The third bedroom, meanwhile, is another twin room, next to which the second bathroom offers a bath and WC.

Outside, the property benefits from a generously-sized fenced garden which offers plenty of space for guests to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and take alfresco meals on the provided table and chairs. There is off-road parking available for up to three cars.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hackney Stables Cottage. Set in a quiet, rural location it is an ideal retreat from the bustle of the more touristy areas of the island. It is conveniently located just a 10 minute drive to Newport for shopping and equidistant from all the attractions the island has to offer. The beds and sitting areas were very coRead moremfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The washing/drying machines are new, and there is a large fridge/freezer and dishwasher. We loved out stay. The property was perfect for our holiday (2 grandparents, two parents and 2 eight year old children. Located near Merston in the center of the island it was conveniently located for the beaches and town in East Wight. The accommodation was immaculately clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. The children particularly liked feeding the goat.

This is a lovely cottage and very well situated (just 10 to 15 minutes away from a lot of attractions) The owners were very friendly and helpful in asking e.g where we wanted the cot placed before we got there. The cottage is very well equipped. There is a play area with ride on tractors for little ones, but it is across the drive with occasional cRead morears passing in front of the door so you need to supervise young children. Hide

I had a lovely holiday with my family. The property had everything we needed and was decorated and equipped to a very high standard. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The property is situated in the centre of the island-so everywhere was very accessible. Thank you for a very enjoyable holiday.
