This cottage enjoys a quiet location on the owner’s farm in the village of Carisbrooke. The village is known for its impressive castle, where visitors can not only visit the Norman walls and keep, but also look around the beautiful Princess Beatrice Gardens and the tranquil chapel, as well as visit the resident donkeys. The central location on the island means that all of the island’s coastlines are easily accessible, with beaches at Sandown, Ventnor, Freshwater, and Ryde all located within ten miles of the cottage. To the north of the cottage, the sailing town of Cowes makes for a relaxing day trip year round, near to which Osborne house is a popular spot with visitors who can enjoy a glimpse of Queen Victoria’s favourite retreat.
As soon as guests arrive at this pretty cottage, they will immediately be able to see just how much effort the owners have put into creating an attractive holiday retreat. The lounge is an elegant and spacious room where guests will find two inviting sofas which sit gathered around the fireplace which houses a warming wood burner. The TV/DVD is also in this room, making it the ideal spot to relax at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. Moving through to the kitchen, guests will find a farmhouse dining table which is surrounded by contemporary-style fittings which include an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. The conservatory, overlooking the garden, offers a second lounge area which is accessed through the ground-floor bedroom, a twin room, next to which there is a shower room with a shower and WC. Wooden stairs in the lounge lead to the first floor where there are two more bedrooms - a king size and a further twin room. Both bedrooms enjoy views over the surrounding countryside, with the double offering glimpses of Carisbrooke Castle. The bathroom on this floor offers a bath, handheld shower, and WC.
To the rear of the property, there is a delightful garden which is fully enclosed and offers both a lawned area and a patio seating area. There is garden furniture, a BBQ, and plenty of space for children to play.
