Just a short 10 minutes drive from Wantage, a traditional market town that’s brimming with historic buildings, a haven for shoppers, with a variety of independent shops and boutiques, and weekly produce markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays that are also not to be missed. The ancient Ridgeway National Trail is just perfect for keen walkers to explore the area. Enjoying a great location with a wealth of attractions close to your doorstep that include; Beale Park, Bucklebury Farm Park and Lakeside Discovery Centre. For historians take a trip to the Uffington White Horse , Highclere Castle and Donnington Castle or simply wander the grounds of Blenheim Palace. And, for a relaxing day, fishing is available on the River Kennet, with boat trips on the Kennet and Avon Canal. There are also several Golf Courses close by including West Berkshire Golf Club, Donnington Grove, a championship standard course and one of the oldest clubs in England, Newbury and Crookham.
Take in the beauty of the surrounding farmland and leave your boots at the front door. This inviting hallway offers a friendly welcome with ample space for coats and wellies. After a day’s exploring you will want to relax in the lounge/diner where the oak windows simply frame the views across the countryside. The cosy seating area is ready for that favourite film on TV or DVD or a game of cards, whilst the dining area is just perfect for entertaining and, for summer evenings, why not open the doors onto the patio. The kitchen is tucked away off the hallway and is well equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, small fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer. There is also a large fridge/ freezer in the lounge area to put the rest of your food and drink for a relaxing stay. When it is time for bed you will find a double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC downstairs, off the entrance hallway. Climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find three bedrooms, two king-size, one with an en-suite shower and WC, and one king-size which is a Links bed and can be converted into twins. The third bedroom is a double. There is also a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC.
There are horses in fields and being ridden onsite. We ask any visitors to stay out of the yard and barns for safety reasons, unless accompanied by a member of staff. As a busy working yard this is to ensure our guest’s safety as well as our staff’s. Thank you for your consideration on this matter.
Take in the views across the countryside and the private patio, which enjoys a secluded setting to the side of the barn. The table and bench provide ample room for you to bring your own BBQ or a disposable one. There is private parking, on the gravel to the right, and bicycle storage in stables if necessary.
