Whether you would like to try wind surfing on Carsington Water or a less energetic stroll through historic Ashbourne, you will be centrally located for many attractions. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Heights of Abraham, Tissington & Monsal Trail and Alton Towers are within easy reach. The views over Carsington Water are beautiful, yet only three miles from Ashbourne town centre. From the farm, there are walking, cycle routes and bridleways meaning you can explore the area without getting in to your car. On an early evening, you can walk to the local village pub which serves great food and Kniveton produced cider.

Stepping into the cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. The first thing you notice are the large windows that act as a picture frame to the surrounding rolling countryside. The focal point of the room is a cosy wood burner which is perfect for those romantic nights in snuggled up in front of the fire on the comfy sofa. The area also presents a Smart TV/DVD and extendable dining table if you decide to do a spot of cooking. The compact kitchen area offers an electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher and fridge. At the end of the lodge is the double bedroom with built-in wardrobes and a comfy bed you wont want to leave. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious with electric shower over the bath WC and heated towel rail. In a separate Annex, there is an Exercise and Relaxation Room, with full height glazing looking over the surrounding countryside. This is a great space for yoga, mindfulness exercises, relaxation or bodyweight exercises.

The outside of the lodge really makes this something special, there is a decked area to the front of the lodge to sit, relax and lose your thoughts over the sublime views. If you love animals, the outside space is perfect to relax and watch the sheep, Belted Galloway cows and Shire horses graze the pastures and meadows around the farm whilst soaking up the peaceful tranquillity. The rear of the lodge also offers a private patio area with seating and BBQ.

Perfect in every way. The view across Carsington and beyond was stunning. Great base for exploring the delights of Derbyshire. The host we met was very friendly without being over bearing and happy to help if needed. Would VERY highly recommend.

If peace & quiet is your thing this is the place for you , apart from the odd cow & sheep you are surrounded by your own thoughts, this holiday has been the perfect break for us , away from lifes everyday stress

A very comfortable, clean, tidy, well equipped and well presented holiday cabin. The views were lovely and the surrounding areas well looked after. The location was very tranquil and pleasant. The furniture and fittings were of good quality and well coordinated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Cosy lodge sited on top of a hill with magnificent views. Everything is catered for apart from your food and clothing. A note to add is the property is approximately two miles from a main road up a narrow lane that has a decent road surface.

Loved everything about this cottage . The views were amazing and the cottage very relaxing. No need to rush anywhere just unwind and enjoy the quiet. Our dog enjoyed the outside secure area . The description of the property was honest and didn't disappoint . The lane leading to the cottage was narrow in places but that just added to the feeling of Read moreremoteness . A lovely cosy place in a fantastic location. Amazing views and very relaxing. It was great being able to watch the lambs playing right outside the windows. Very well-equipped with everything you could need.

Had a fantastic week at Ewe Lodge. Views from the lodge are amazing. We cooked every night during our stay, had everything we needed to do so. Owners are nearby by aren't intrusive in anyway. Really lovely people if you do bump into them and their dog. Visited nearby Carsington Water, Dovedale and Black Rock with our dog. Also walked into the nearbRead morey village from the lodge. Relaxing stay at the Ewe Lodge. Visited nearby Carsington Reservoir which is a lovely place for walks. Lodge well equipped, clean and comfortable. Views are amazing over the fields towards Carsington Reservoir.

We had a wonderful relaxing two weeks at Ewe Lodge. The location is secluded and quiet, with an amazing view to wake up to each day. Location was brilliant to explore the Peak District, fantastic walks, villages and stately homes all a short drive away. Would recommend this property if you want to get away from your busy life style.

Ewe lodge was an amazing place to stay. We were given clear directions to the property so the sat nav didn't send us the wrong way which was much appreciated. The venue location with views are amazing for a get away from the manic of city life for a few days. Freedom to chill, walk, read and explore surroundng places. We loved the whole lodge, it was cosy, with the log burner, and the sheep was a lovely personal touch to remind us we are in the country.
