Set high in the valley of Longtown enjoying panoramic views across the patchwork fields and rolling hills, this cosy barn is an ideal bolthole for a country escape, showcasing historic exposed beams alongside comfortable modern touches. Follow the stream out of the garden and walk up onto Hatterrall Ridge to enjoy the breath-taking views of the Black Mountains and the romantic ruins of Llanthony Priory nestled in the Vale of Ewyas. Alternatively enjoy looking up at Hatterrall from your secluded hot tub or luxurious covered seating area amongst the wildflowers with the stream running alongside.

The traditional village of Longtown, more often renowned for its village store and 12th century Norman Castle, offers some of the best walking and mountain biking within the area from your doorstep, explore the Black Mountains, Offa’s Dyke pathway, the Brecon Beacons and the Sugar Loaf; BikePark Wales is also within easy reach. Nearby are the market towns of Abergavenny with a regular farmers market and a food festival in September, Crickhowell nestled within the Usk Valley and Hay-on-Wye with an eclectic range of book shops and internationally regarded book festival in May/June, all with plenty of excellent restaurants.

Downstairs the barn is open plan with a spacious and well-equipped kitchen diner with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer machine; the comfortable lounge has a TV/DVD and, for the colder nights, a log burner. The upstairs offers two bedrooms, 1 king-size with en-suite shower and WC and 1 super king (which can be made into a twin on request); both bedrooms boast glorious views of the Herefordshire countryside. There is a second bathroom with separate shower, bath and WC. Outside there are two patio areas, one with seating and a hot tub, and the second with covered lounge seating and BBQ.

Everything within Hatterall Barn was delightful. Very peaceful & cosy. Couldn't fault anything, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The surrounding area, villages, towns & countryside, well worth a visit.

The converted bar is idyllic, cozy, luxurious. Sally and Martin have thought of every little comfort. Truly wonderful.

We had the most relaxing and comfortable weekend stay at Hatterrall Barn. Definitely the best we've stayed at. All of the fixtures and fittings are of the highest standard, lovely quality bedding, towels and every little comfort thought of. A real gem. So peaceful. The views of the ridge are stunning & change as the weather changes. The stream running by is gorgeous.It is very rural & peaceful which we loved. Hatteral Barn is a beautiful property, fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Its a real home away from home. The welcome treats, ready to light fire and ready heated hot tub are all touches which make the stay even more memorable. Fantastically equipped and cosy cottage with lovely views and thoughtful extras. We loved our stay and enjoyed both the BBQ and hot tub. The recommendations and instructions in the folder were great and informed several super days out and about.

Clean, well-equipped and full of character both in the exposed structure and finishes and bespoke wrought iron fittings. Large comfortable armchairs and sofa and long, wide beds which afford a long, restful and cosy sleep. Large bathrooms with quality fittings and powerful showers. A beautifully presented cottage on the border with Wales. We were looking for some space and time to relax as a family and we weren't disappointed. Beautiful converted barn in peaceful location with views of the hills and a stream flowing at the rear. Just lovely! The hot tub on the deck at the back was a highlight and we used it every day. Sweet and secluded garden with regular visits from the squirrels. Really comfy beds and a huge bathroom. The twin has an on-suite, which was great for the Read morekids overnight. This was our second visit to Hatterrall Barn. We enjoyed it so much three years ago, we couldnt wait to return. The property its self is spacious and beautifully built. There are two outside areas. The first is directly outside patio doors, which has a seating area and a large hot tub.
