The traditional village of Longtown, more often renowned for its village store and 12th century Norman Castle, offers some of the best walking and mountain biking within the area from your doorstep, explore the Black Mountains, Offa’s Dyke pathway, the Brecon Beacons and the Sugar Loaf; BikePark Wales is also within easy reach. Nearby are the market towns of Abergavenny with a regular farmers market and a food festival in September, Crickhowell nestled within the Usk Valley and Hay-on-Wye with an eclectic range of book shops and internationally regarded book festival in May/June, all with plenty of excellent restaurants.
