This property enjoys a tranquil rural location on a working beef and sheep farm, and offers scenic countryside walks directly from the cottage’s front door. One of these walks, a pleasant forty-minute woodland route, brings visitors to the seaside village of Lee Bay, with its small sandy beach, rocky cove, and village pub, which prides itself on serving local ales and organic wine, as well as offering traditional Devonshire cream teas, alongside a more traditional pub menu. The popular sandy beach at Woolacombe is just two miles away, and other family-friendly beaches, such as Croyde and Saunton Sands are within easy reach. Other attractions in the local area include the Combe Martin Wildlife Park, Exmoor National Park, and the South West Coast Path which is just over a mile from the cottage. And don't forget to explore the Tarka Trail by bicycle which runs directly through the farm. Best of all, right on your door step the owners have a sheepdog and falconry display (June to August) and farmyard shows (July to August). More details can be requested on booking.
This quaint cottage is entered via the front door into an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with comfortable sofa and armchairs arranged around the Smart TV/DVD. The dining table, seating four, is situated in the window, offering lovely views over the farmland and the surrounding countryside, whilst the kitchen area is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine. Steep, cottage-style stairs lead to the bedrooms on the first floor. The first of these is a restful super-king size zip and link bed (can be a twin on request) whilst the second bedroom is a bunk bedroom. The modern shower room is also on the first floor, and offers a shower and WC.
Outside, there is a lawned garden with seating and a BBQ, which makes a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and the views across to the bay and even across to South Wales on a fine day.
