This property enjoys a tranquil rural location in the midst of the Devonshire countryside. Two miles from the property is the village of Bampton, which offers an array of handy shops including a traditional butchers’, bakery, chemist, greengrocer plus two convenience stores, one with a Post Office. There is also a choice of eateries in the village, so the pressure is off when it comes to cooking. Three miles north of the property lies Exmoor National Park, where there are scenic walking routes to suit all abilities, ranging from gentle strolls to challenging long-distance hikes. Other attractions within easy reach of the property include the expansive beach at Minehead, the cathedral city of Exeter, and the medieval village of Dunster with its ancient castle.

Approaching this property down a quiet country lane, guests will immediately appreciate the secluded surroundings which allow them to escape the stresses of day-to-day life. The homely lounge/diner at the centre of property offers a dining table seating six, comfortable seating, an electric fire, TV, and DVD. Just next to this room is the kitchen, where guests will find everything they need to make themselves at home including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. For those who need to do laundry, there is a washing machine  located in a separate utility room. The property’s two bedrooms are located at either end of the property, one is a king-size and the other is a twin. One of these has an additional small room adjacent where there is space for a cot, and this room also has a handy WC and hand basin located just off from it. The bathroom, meanwhile, offers a shower-over-bath and WC.

Outside, the property enjoys a well-maintained garden which has two distinct areas: an enclosed lawn, and a patio seating area with garden furniture.

Beautiful, peaceful location with good-sized, secure garden space for the dogs. The cottage was very comfortable, and Kevin and Val were great hosts. We really enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was great. We highly recommend it for a peaceful and quiet place to relax and enjoy nature. The gardens are lovely and well kept. The beds very comfortable. The owners were very accommodating.

An idyllic location if you enjoy peace and quiet plus a lovely garden for the dogs to play and on lead walks from the bungalow over fields and through nearby woodland. There is also a secure dog park near Bampton. The cottage itself was well equipped and beds and furniture comfortable. Owners very helpful too. A real home from home

Once the mile long single track road has been navigated the cottage is in a lovely tranquil setting. The cottage itself is perfect its really all on one level, however, if you have mobility problems navigating the entrance steps which dont have handrails, made it impossible to access without the assistance of my carer. Also the steps could prove a Read moreproblem for small/young children. Hide

This cottage is well equipped, roomy and very cosy. The location is fantastic - really quiet with stunning countryside all around. We brought our 7 month old puppy with us and she was able to explore the area with us off leash and make friends with the resident farm dog, Honey. When we were there, apples were being pressed to make cider which we weRead morere able to purchase and sample. The people we met were friendly and welcoming. A lovely welcome from Kevin, although the lane from the main road was very narrow. Well situated in relation to both Exeter and also Exmoor.

If you're looking for a perfectly secluded quiet getaway this is an ideal location. The cottage is cosy and we'll equipped in beautiful surroundings. Kevin is welcoming, friendly and happy to give advise where to eat and what to do in the area. Our dog was also made very welcome.

This unassuming cottage was just what we were looking for. An area for peace in the middle of countryside with fields to walk our dog away from distractions.Help at hand should we have needed it. We relaxed straight away and booked for later in the year as we enjoyed it so much.

Great location, very quiet and peaceful. Well equipped, spacious cottage with nice garden area and plenty of parking. Well located for good walks from the cottage as well as convenient for Bampton and Wiveliscombe with their local shops and places to eat. Very happy to book to stay here again.
